In case you never noticed, paper bags are everywhere. If you look around your house right now, odds are that you’ve got a dozens of paper bags. For carrying your purchases from retail stores, or bringing home your favorite fast food, smart businesses across the country choose paper bags as their primary packaging.
This time of year, thousands of homeowners purchase paper bags to gather their yard waste. A renewable resource, paper is also highly biodegradable, making it the perfect choice over competing products to ensure the health of the earth for future generations.
I’ve lived around paper bags all my life. Duro Bag Manufacturing Company is just slightly older than me. Duro was founded in 1953 by my father, S. David Shor. His father had also been in the paper bag business giving Duro three generations of experience in creating the absolute best bags and sacks you can buy.
I’m creating this website to help both consumers and business owners answer any questions they may have about paper bags. I’ll let you know about
- different uses of bags
- what kind of bag is best for various tasks
- how bags are made
- news about Duro Bag Mfg. Co.
- Interesting stories and news related to the bag industry
- Tidbits on running a business, large or small
In the process, you will also find out a bit about me. Since 1987, I’ve been running Duro. My father laid a great foundation for the business, and we were already well into our expansion plans when I took over. From humble beginnings in 1953, Duro has grown into the largest paper bag manufacturer in the world.
With approximately 3,000 employees in 12 plants in the USA and Mexico, Duro makes twenty billion quality paper bags every year. Our size means we can handle the largest job without blinking an eye. Being family owned, we still pay close attention to customer service and the quality of every paper bag.
I put my name and reputation on the line with every paper bag.
